If you come to see Dust, don’t expect conventional theatre.
On stage, you’ll see large, human-sized puppets that move almost like real people. They are operated by performers who remain visible throughout the performance. Together with an opera singer, they tell a story with very little dialogue, relying instead on imagery, sound and movement.
This means you don’t have to “follow the plot” as you would in a film. Instead, you enter and experience a visual world.
The performance is set in a post-catastrophic future, but the catastrophe itself is not the focus. At its heart are the people: how they live, adapt and cope in a world that has fundamentally changed.
It is less a story than an experience. One that can shake you and leave you looking at the world a little differently.
The Danish company Sew Flunk Fury Wit is known for bringing together puppetry, opera and a distinctive visual language. Dust has toured internationally and received recognition for its unusual form and powerful visual imagery.

Sew Flunk Fury Wit
Acclaimed Danish company Sew Flunk Fury Wit creates innovative music theatre in a unique hybrid form, combining newly composed opera, dynamic performance art and life-sized puppets with ritualistic and immersive staging.
Their work brings together poetic dramaturgy and powerful visual imagery to create sensual and emotionally engaging experiences for the audience.
The company was founded in 2013 by artistic director Svend E. Kristensen, whose artistic roots reach back to Denmark’s experimental music scene of the early 1980s and international performance theatre of the 1990s.
Over the years, Kristensen has pioneered the design and construction of highly detailed puppets using materials including carbon fibre, silicone and other composites. These meticulously crafted figures have appeared not only in Sew Flunk Fury Wit’s productions but also in works by other acclaimed artists and companies.
