Kertu Orro: Let's turn Rakvere into Milan!

Gourmet Opera will bring a piece of Italy to Rakverre on two December evenings and create an event that is exceptional in its format in Estonia.

Gourmet Opera is a beloved Italian tradition where the worlds of music and gastronomy unite—singing, fine cuisine, and sophisticated ambiance come together to create an unforgettable, multisensory experience.

"The Gourmet Opera evenings at Ukuaru Music House are held in collaboration with the Mascagni Festival, honoring composer Pietro Mascagni, whose renown in Italy as is Arvo Pärt in Estonia," said Kertu Orro, director of Ukuaru Concert Hall. "For two December nights, Rakvere will be transformed into a miniature Milan—a destination for exquisite music, delightful company, and meticulously curated culinary experiences."
Internationally renowned conductor Marcello Mottadelli will lead the evening alongside beloved Estonian actress Merle Palmiste, ensuring an atmosphere of elegance and unity. The stage will showcase celebrated Italian opera singers—soprano Veronica Prando, mezzo-soprano Valentina Coletti, tenor Davide Piaggio, and baritone Stavros Mantis—accompanied by pianist Massimo Salotti. “The passion and charm of opera will truly resonate!” said Orro.
The magic carries on beyond the main program. "The evening culminates with an after-party, where acclaimed pianist Sten Heinoja transforms into a DJ, sweeping guests onto the dance floor with infectious Italian disco rhythms. His curated playlist promises an energetic and sophisticated finale to the night."

Gourmet Opera offers a fully immersive cultural journey, placing Rakvere in the spotlight of Europe’s vibrant arts scene for two unforgettable nights.
